  • This afternoon was the Grandparents' Day party at Benjamin's school:

Here I am with the Boy of the Hour.  ;^)  Of course, darling Bryson was also on hand:

That's him with his other grandfather.  And here's Benjamin in his regular spot in his classroom:

Golly, it's hard to believe he's old enough to be in preschool already.

  • Very cute!

Hazel went to the Grandparents Tea at Magaly's daycare and Maggie was in one of her moods - she barely acknowledged her grandma's presence. And later that day, Hazel and Ron and Ethan dropped by to see Maggie and her parents and got the same treatment. Well, Hazel did. Ethan was mauled with Maggie's attentions and when they left, Maggie wouldn't even wave to Grandma, no matter how the adults coaxed. But when Mel said, "Say bye to Ronnie, Maggie," she responded loudly, "BYE, Ronnie!" Brat.

Looks like Benjamin responded much more appropriately to you!

  • The one who gave a cold shoulder was Bryson, to the parish priest, who came up to talk to Kirstin about something or other and noticed Ben Ed (Matt's father) holding Bryson. He greeted Bryson cheerfully, then held his hand up, "High five!"

Bryson just stared balefully - and unblinkingly - at him. Finally the priest lowered his hand, saying, "Or not..." while shrugging the slight off.

Lemme tell you, you haven't been given the Cut Direct until a two year old refuses to give you a high five.

Benjamin happily subbed for his little brother.

  • No. That's impossible. Benjamin was born just a couple of weeks ago. http://www.geocities.com/anne_g_ivy/faint.gif

  • Oh, blast it, I wanted to include your little "faint" emoticon in there but I blew it.

  • I've tried and I've tried but there simply doesn't seem to be any way to get emoticons in here, barring the standard ones we know about, or using the ones CheriM and Kathryn use, but I can't figure out how to install. Most frustrating!

  • I always feel bad when grandparents day rolls around at our school. My inlaws are too old and in too poor health to go even if they lived here and my mom also lives so far away. Last year I borrowed my neighbor's mom. That Benjamin is sure a cutie!!

Anne, I don't remember how I got the emoticons on my site. I've seen neater ones but couldn't figure out how to get them onto my computer!
