Seeing as how my family has a history of breast cancer I'm certainly supportive of the fight against it, but is there really a lot of call for pink kitchen appliances, bake ware, gadgets, and so on?
AAMOF, the passion for pink extends into other areas of housekeeping, such as the Dirt Devil:
Pink tool kit? They've got you covered!
Though ISTM $79.95 is a little pricey for it. I suppose one should consider the price overage as a donation to the cause, though.
Trouble is I've never been especially partial to pink. Now fuchsia is another matter, but I'm not finding a lot of fuchsia appliances, etc. and they wouldn't go with my house anyway.
I'm just wondering how many of these pink items are actually being purchased?

You'll find out as soon as "garage sale season" starts!!
LOL!!!
True, Tim. True.
That's a "bathroom" shade of pink that I would not have anywhere near my kitchen or elsewhere. It's a racket, I'll bet. Phooey. Give me a list of foundations that fund breast cancer research, and I'l donate if I want to.
Something tells me the amount of "donation" they make to these foundations is precisely equal to the additional profit they make on persuading people that they're doing something important by buying something pink.
My personal favorite was the pink AAA Energizer batteries. I wound up buying them because I needed them at the time and there didn't seem to be any others available, but this was ridiculous. The batteries weren't even really pink -- they were normal Energizer color with a bit of pink added somewhere and a little ribbon icon.
The tools are cute, the blender not too bad, but a pink vacuum cleaner? Where are the feminists on this one?
Just had to comment on this one. My daughter is nine and she Loves!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Pink. For Easter this year my mom made her an Easter Dress which is normal and it was pink which is normal. The difference this year is that she also made her American Girl Doll a dress too different style yet still the same fabric. So my Meggy wanted to know if she could where pink in her wedding I told her no but everyone else could. "Boy from that came the comment I don't care who I marry as long as I get to have as much pink as I can in my wedding." This was so cute and had to do with the pink. I think if it was up to Meg my whole house would be pink. She has even started to sway me towards pink on a few things. Even though I am a die hard purple lover. She hates the fact that I will be tearing down the pink tile in the kitchen. Too bad someone that buys all that pink stuff didn't buy my kitchen. It would match beautifully. Anyway, Love your posts on these things. Hope they keep those around until my Megs big day and for her house. THen again maybe she will find them all at garage sales. Hee Hee..
But Eleanor dear, if you simply make a donation and don't buy a pink widget, no one will know what you've done and they'll think You Don't Care.
oh, look, Kelly used a pink emoticon. She cares!
i love pink stuff (i have a pink phone, though its the darker pink vs. the lighter pink) but in the kitchen. I want red. hehe
Of course!
A ketchup-colored kitchen makes scads of sense, really.
I've discovered this past year that pale pink is my best color. I've worn the bright colors for years: fuschia, neon turquoise, lime green, etc. But I found an adorable pink shirt that is flattering in fit, and I get more compliments when I wear it.
But I'm with E...pink seems to be more a bathroom color, which is just icky in the kitchen. I'd own a pink tool set, and maybe a pink dust buster. Pink Kitchen-Aid? Nah. I've got me eyes on a magenta Kitchen-Aid!
