  • This afternoon was our Bryson Bunny's official birthday party; here he is with his other grandfather, Ben Ed:

    Sept06 022

Jessica, Jason, li'l Kirsten and Brianna were in attendance, but the only ones I could catch with my camera were the first two:

    Sept06 026

Jason's expression is not indicative of his feelings about Jessica, but rather about having his photo taken yet again ("You know, Mrs. Ivy, I'm starting to think Charles has a point"  [note:  he does not] ).  The two of them are most pleased as in a couple of weeks they are going away ALL BY THEMSELVES for short vacation in south Texas.   e-banana

They didn't go on a honeymoon when they were married, and have never been away by themselves since (keep in mind Brianna turned SIX last June), so this is a Very Belated Honeymoon for them.    e-aw

Amazing how parties coalesce along gender lines:

Elaine came with Meredith and Margaret; Marebear disappeared upstairs to the playroom almost immediately, but Margaret stayed downstairs:

Is she a cutie-patootie or what?     Before we left, I snatched a quick shot of Bethie with her best friend for a few years now, Isabella:

    She's such a ham.  e-ghost

  • Cute cute cute!! Happy birthday to Bryson!!

Thank you for your kind words and prayers. I talked to my mother in law today, I'd knitted her a shrug and sent along some chokecherry jelly to help brighten her spirits a bit. She sounded wonderful, it was amazing talking to her today! Of course as these things go we all know that it's a waiting game. She's had cancer before (twice in the breast on one melanoma) as has my father in law (lung), they're tough old people and while this latest bout is most distressing (and most likely the last bout they'll have with it), we're keeping our spirits up. You hand it to God and accept that what will be will be.

  • You're right as rain, m'dear. I'm keeping them - and y'all - in my prayers.

    What's a chokecherry?

Just in case you did not find your tuba, cause I am still a little disturbed about that trumpet! LOL   8 ^ )     Looks like a fun party you all had! Isn't it amazing how all the men congregate in one area like they are all safer in a herd?  Happens at every party.

  • Hey, too cool! Thanks, Sue.
