  • I got the first communiqué from Charles!

So far he's not much enjoying boot camp, but says it's because it's "P-days", whatever those may be.  I suppose the intro stuff?  Getting shots, shaved, etc.?  He likes his RDCs (again, I forget what that stands for), has made a few friends, and is being careful to keep his mouth shut and not draw attention to himself.

Whether he can keep that up until the end of March remains to be seen.

Still, he's alive and reasonably well, sounds like.

  • What's not to like about boot camp?     I'm sure it relieved your mind to hear from him, Anne.  He'll be fine, and so will you   We moms do tend to rally.

  • I am glad to hear that he is surviving.  Will keep praying.

  • RDC is recruit division commander.  P-days are processing days.  It's good that he is making the point of not talking.  His first week is over and that is the hardest part, so far.  The next hardest will be the last couple of weeks when he is about to graduate.  Threat of being asmo-ed back becomes even more imminent, and he is just ready to be done.  Hooyah

  • Glad you've heard from him, and that things are going so well for him.

Our pastor's coming here for the Super Bowl and he says he'll come over "As soon as Nathanael calls," Nathanael being his older son who left for his first week in the Air Force on Tuesday. Sunday afternoon is the first time he's allowed to call.

I'm glad Pastor Bill has his priorities figured out!

  • Glad to hear Charles is surviving!  We're praying for you guys!
