  • It's here.  The first day of school, and I just delivered Dmitry
to Eagle Academy.  He looked very handsome, if I may say so,
dressed in black slacks and white polo shirt.

And his sandals.  The school permits sandals, which is unusual but welcome.  ;^)

This week they're mostly testing the kids to see where they are.

    Should be interesting.

  • um no tommorow 4 me i go to fwc - fort worth chirstian im in 6th grade we have uniforms too!

  • Well, he liked it alright.

What are the FWC uniforms like? Dmitry can wears black, grey, khaki, or navy pants, with a black, white, navy, grey, or white polo-style shirt.

  • Already? Wowza, my daughter's school starts in two weeks, and some around here aren't until the week after.

I'll bet it has something historically to do with the growing season -- our harvests are a lot later than y'all's.

  • Nothing historical about it, as I used to start school the Tuesday after Labor Day. No, it had to do with the Scholastic Powers That Be deciding it'd be better to complete the first semester by the Christmas break . . . to do this school had to start much sooner.

Next year the public school system's returning to a September start. Yee-haw!

  • If I'm guessing right, that means the kids are going to be appallingly spoiled by an extra-long summer next year.
