It must be tough times in the ice cream biz when a venerble company is reduced to such flavors as:
CANTALOUPE and cream? Are they serious?
Maybe it's just because I'm not fond of melon but really, even if I
were I don't think I'd care for that. Anyway, I'm fond of the
following flavors in their place, but ice cream isn't that place:

I don't know that I'd ever buy it, but I've eaten canteloupe with vanilla ice cream at some time or another and it was quite good. And I enjoy PB&J too, but - ice cream? That's just dumb.
Dumb.

Who sits around and thinks up these flavors? Tho, I'll bet you've not heard of this flavor, which I've heard is served up in Gilroy (but I've never managed to get to the festival)....garlic. Yes, in the garlic capital of the world, Gilroy California, they have a garlic festival every year, and I hear tell that they serve garlic flavored icecream there. Aaaacckkkk!!
Garlic ice cream?
That's the most awful thing I've ever heard of, ice creamwise.
What's next - KETCHUP ice cream?!
Ketchup ice cream? Nah, we'll keep that for potato chips.
I once had some zuchinni ice cream....
There's some place hawking side-by-side milk shakes.....can you imagine one with garlic ice cream on one side and zucchini ice cream on the other?
Neither can I.
Betcha someone comes up with ice cream with potato chips in it somehow or other.
Hey, you're saying "potato chips" triggered a thought.....
Tuna Casserole Ice Cream! :^p
I've heard of spaghetti ice cream.
I'd try garlic ice cream, but that's because I love garlic. I'd lick it. Dunno about liking it. Hahahaha! Lick it Like it : D
Ick. You're making that up, Heidi...got to be. Spaghetti ice cream???
I know someone who's had garlic ice cream. The way they do it is with roasted garlic, and the person who tried it (Faron's aunt, who DID make the Gilroy festival one year) said it's good. She brought me a cookbook from there - I have the recipe if anyone wants it.

Sure, we'll all get it and top our apple pies with it! Gag!
This is killing me!!! I'd love a copy of the garlic icecream recipe for my sister. So Anne I suppose that you won't be eating any roasted garlic flavored jelly bellies either? My sister bought some a while back....they're merely weird if you're warned a head of time what they are. My mom was expecting pina colada or coconut and got roasted garlic....I wasn't there, but I guess it was pretty funny.
I love pina coladas, and can imagine few things worse'n happily chomping down on a jelly bean, fully expecting a delightful blast of pineapple, coconut and rum to tickle my taste buds, only to get GARLIC.
A little garlic goes a long, long way, to my mind. ;^)
I actually found this online - it's said to be the recipe for the ice cream used at the Gilroy Garlic Festival. Check out the amount of garlic. Half a teaspoon? Sheesh. That ain't hardly nuttin'!
Garlic Ice Cream
ingredients:
3 cups whole milk
1/2 teaspoon freshly chopped garlic
1 vanilla bean, split in half
1 cup heavy cream
1 1/2 cups granulated sugar
9 egg yolks
Put milk, garlic and vanilla in a saucepan.
Bring to a boil and remove from heat.
In mixing bowl, blend cream, sugar and egg
yolks.
Strain the scalded milk into the egg and
sugar mixture, stirring constantly.
Return the combined mixture to the pan and
stir continuaously over moderate heat until
it coats the back of a spoon. About 10-15
minutes.
Cool in an ice bath and freeze until firm.
*makes 4-5 servings.

Bats in the Bluebelfry if ya ask me.
Funny thing is, I can imagine liking cantaloupe with vanilla ice cream on the side but...
And pb&j ice cream! BARF!!

Presby2 you're a peach, I'm going to send this off to my sis!! Thanks!!! (Ya think Anne will try it out and tell us how it is? Or will we have to wait to see if my sister makes it?)
You're gonna have to wait on your sister. Trust me on this.
