  • By jingo, I'll get the hang of taking photos of fireworks if it kills me.

Got two more nights to practice.

  • Anne, those pictures are quite stunning!! Our little town puts on quite the July 4th extravaganza...it will begin at about 7 am tomorrow with a 5 mile run/race, then the parade, then a town street fair thingy and ends up with fireworks. The fireworks echo through the mountains and the passing trains engineers wave as they pass through town....it is truly a sight. Hopefully we too, will be able to get a decent photo of the fireworks...hopefully equal to what you have posted here.

The saying in our house is similiar to Dmitry's we say "Scream like a little girl"....I think I like Dima's better!

And Bassett hounds...my neighbors when I was little had 2, Abraham (who was bestest friends with our Boxer Falstaf) and Abby. They were wonderful. My neighbor several years ago had an old bassett named Jenny (who just about lived at my house because I spoiled her rotten). My brother got a bassett puppy a few months ago, Odie. They are the perfect dog with kids...next to golden retrievers of course!! Soon I'll know if we're adding to our dog family....

  • Anne, you done good with the fireworks pics, especially with a digital camera.  My results were sadly lacking, but they make good modern art.

  • Thanks! I bought a book about digital photography and according to it, one of the areas in which its lacking is its ability to handle huge differences in light and dark.

No wonder so many of my fireworks shots didn't come out terribly well.

Truth be told, however, I rely on the good offices of some favorite software programs to improve them...they didn't download looking exactly like that.

  • Wow! I'm impressed! Thanks for the pics. I love fireworks and don't get to see them anymore except on TV which is good on the 4th!! Love, Mom

  • If you don't mind being out and about around 10 p.m., you are welcome to perch on our porch and enjoy the show, Mom.
