Whoever dreamed up the catch-phrase "It's a dog's life", clearly never met Max the Mega-Dog.
This morning I tapped lightly on Dmitry and Joe's door to wake Dmitry up for church (we've a party @ 5 p.m., but the boys can go to the service that starts then), and was taken aback to realize the large hairy critter in Dmitry's bed was Max, while Dmitry was conked out on the futon, along with Joe.
The dog has the bed to himself, and the boys shared a futon.
Yesterday afternoon I baked cupcakes, and as the boys were heading out the back door to take the dog for a walk, I handed them each a cupcake as they passed. Suddenly Max reared up over the side of the counter, eager grin on his face, obviously expecting to be given a cupcake, too.
You had to have been there, I guess, but it was really very funny....his timing was perfect, and his air of expectation so intense, we all burst out laughing. Well, except Max, who was pushed back down, cupcakeless. How the deuce does a dog that size manage to give Bambi eyes?

Aww Poor Max, tho I guess it really isn't sensible to teach him to expect snacks when he raises up to the counter. Sorta counter productive, hee hee.
You're a hoot, Mrs G.
Yeah, and who wants to clean up his mess if it makes him sick? Blech.
I guess OUR Max-the-Mega-dog (a very large black lab who belongs to Ethan but sleeps with Rachel) went on the family retreat, and he and Magaly were joined at the hip. Maggie's used to an early wake-up time, so first thing this morning she let Max into the cabin, who promptly ran upstairs in search of Ethan.
Barking.
That was one of the first things I heard about the retreat!

HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY!! I hope y'all have a blessed day of celebrating Moms. It was really cute hearing Hannah tell Beth, "Happy Mother's Day, Mommy!" Is the party in celebration of today?
That's right....Mother's Day and the various May celebrations (assorted birthdays and Kirstin and Matt's 10th anniversary).
