  • Okay, I have to send that one to James Taranto, editor of OpinionJournal's (WSJ) "Best of the Web Today." He deals with serious media criticism, as well as funny headlines and that sort of thing.

    That is a hoot!

  • Let me know if it makes BotWT's cut.

    It's clearly deliberate, as normally headlines such as that read "Man runs truck into house", supplying the name in the body text. "Moron" as a last name was just too easy a shot for the headline-writer to ignore.

  • Right -- unknown people don't get their names in headlines, because it doesn't add any information useful to the average reader. It's only there because of what the name is.

  • BTW, thinking he'd have changed his name presumes he has a lick of sense. But the man got drunk and drove his car into a house, Anne-dear.

  • Oh well, fine.....point out the obvious, Jane.
