Very nice. That house behind Carolyn looks exactly as I expect a Galveston house to look, IYKWIM.
And back again? They DID have a good time! And it'll still be 'cane season. Wow.
me<><
PS Sans girls, Dmitry is definitely NOT lookin' like a Mormon.
Anne, every time I see another picture of Dmitry, I think of how relieved and happy and at peace his biological mother would be of she could see him today-- and no doubt you would be the recipient of many grateful, tearful hugs. I hope you really know that. You, lady, are a WINNER.
That's kind of you, Eleanor, but do keep in mind Dmitry was with Carolyn and HER parents for these photos.
Only thing I did was buy him the camera.
BTW, what's really nice is how his cousin, Sveta, definitely feels like that. Him being taken care of has made life much easier for her, as she used to fret both about his being in the orphanage, and what would happen when he left it.
and who is this Carolyn, exactly? the two of them look cute and cozy in the formal pics. Sorry if I haven't seen the post where you mentioned this cutie pie (and I know you did, but I've been busy enough to barely look at my own blog!)
No, Anne, that's not the only thing you did. You brought him HERE, and you let him go THERE. He's squeezing alot of missed happiness into what childhood he has left, and it's ALL YOUR FAULT, you wonderful thing, you.
Carolyn is Dmitry's sweet babboo, and Ravinn is his "pal" whom he met at Eagle Academy, who is Carolyn's best friend, and who played matchmaker for the two of them. She strong-armed (okay, nagged) Dmitry into escorting Carolyn to Eagle Academy's prom last April, and Dmitry and Carolyn have been a couple ever since.
Except they're often a trio, with Ravinn. Seems to work for them! They have a great time together. Early this morning...the first day of school in Fort Worth...I heard Dmitry's voice from his room, obviously already on the phone with them.
While driving him to school I asked, "So, did you wish Carolyn a happy first day of school this morning?" to which he replied, in a startled voice, "How'd you know that?"

Just a guess. A wild, wild guess.
