  • Happy 7th birthday, Brianna!

    Seven years ago this very day our precious Brianna made her first appearance on this earthly stage.

    Today also was the day of her birthday party....the first time the celebration has been on Brianna's actual natal day. She and some family and friends drove through heavy rain to get to the party site, an indoor swimming pool. Kirstin's still in Honduras (though presumably she's making the trek home now), so Don and I braved hard rain and impressive lightning to pick Bethany up at her other grandparents' house and take her to the party. Benjamin had also been invited but, assuming there would nothing but a bunch of girls present, he refused to attend (to the subsequent dismay of the ONE boy who did show up, solely because he thought Benjamin would be there).

  • Happy Birthday Brianna.  I can't beleive how fast time flies.  The party looked like so much fun.  Where is the indoor pool?  WHat a great idea!  I wish we could have been there.  Hannah asked to see the video over and over again of Brianna swimming.  How is Jessica and baby Smith doing?

  • "It's a video - go do something!"

    I think that those words have been uttered at least once (or probably many more times) by parents (or relatives) since the time the first 8mm home movie camera was introduced.

    Only now, with sound, you can hear the moviemaker saying it.

    I remember many times when my Dad, wind-up 8mm camera in hand, would say "I'm taking a movie - move!"

  • Brianna, what a fun party and I like your bathing suit. Did you have cake?? I'm glad it was an indoor party and the rain didn't stop it. Love from Great Grandmom

  • Great pics!  Is there any way to get some pics of Jessica, and some of Brianna with the birthday cake and/or presents?

  • Only if someone else took 'em, for we had to leave in the middle so Bethany could be back at her grandparents' house in time for church (they attend the Saturday evening service), meaning we missed the cake.

    However, I did take a photo of the cake, and will include it.
