So I'm not the only one who has features on her camera that mess her up.

Canon managed to make it so easy it fouls me up, y'know?
Most annoying.
Speaking of that sort of thing, Dmitry had been having a miserable time with his new Verizon cell phone...every time he'd answer he'd lose the call!
Finally handed it to me to try. He called me on his Virgin Mobile phone (still has some money on it so he'll keep it for a couple of weeks until he's sure his friends know his new number), I picked up and spoke to him. He was frustrated, demanding "What button did you push?"
Um, that'd be none. On LG clamshells when on opens the phone it answers, unlike his Virgin Mobile phone. He'd been hitting the "send" key on the new phone, thereby hanging up on whoever was calling.
Poor Dmitry. That is confusing. I've seen phones that work both ways, too. Somebody oughta tell a guy!

Poor Dmitry, my left foot. Six years ago, if you'd told him he'd be fiddling with a camera phone, he would have said, "Pffft!" I'm certain he's enjoying the challenge of figuring the thing out.
Anne, tell me why his name went from "Dima" to "Dmitry"? I know it was always properly Dmitry, but is that sort of like going from John-John Kennedy to John F. Kennedy, Jr.? A more grown-up name?
We were afraid it sounded feminine, as the "a" ending is feminine WRT Spanish names, and didn't want him to be teased when he went to the ESL school (for a whole week or so), as it's populated almost exclusively by speakers of Spanish. So we just had him called "Dmitry."
Ooooh fireworks. I have got to figure out how to see those this year on July 4. Are the ones you photographed somewhere in fw ? After some kind of game ?
I got my digital camera back,b ut I've lost hte cord so I have to get an XD card reader.
Well, the city did me a favor this year and moved the fireworks celebration away from the place where we could see it from our former house (and the kids could profit wildly on sidewalk lemonade sales to festival goers.) Now we no longer have that regret about moving.
Aislin, they're taken on my front porch. We're nicely positioned to see the fireworks that accompany the weekend "Concerts in the Garden" (Botanic Garden, that is), running through July 4.
They're short, so I'm not sure it'd be worth a special trip, but if you're in the area some Friday, Saturday or Sunday evening over the next 2 or 3 weekends about 9:30-10:15 (firework time varies, based on the concert), stop by.
