  • Adios?!?!

Did Middleageguy say he was going to shut down his Xanga and I missed it?

    Well, dang.

If I'd known he was going to do that, I'd have cut and pasted some of my favorite posts of his.

    I am SO depressed.

  • That picture is of him riding off into the sunset, I guess.  Bummer!

  • That's what I finally figured out. It took me a few seconds to "get" it...the cowboy-riding-into-the-sunset motif, and to notice the "Adios!" and the lack of any other posts, not to mention no comment ability.

Okay, fine, I'm not especially observant. Never said I was.

  • are you subscribed ? i get my subbed posts in my email ...

  • Yes, that's how I found out. I fell behind, though, and I think I missed the last but one.

Did he say something about it, then? What'd he say?

  • I wonder if it wasn't a pleasant reason, I was surprised when he went to xangalock and now...wow, he had just posted the other day....huh. Either that, or he's getting a kick out of his readers coming up with conspiracy theories...hmmm.... ~K.

  • Oh i am not subbed to him. I just mean, I never delete most of my email so I have peoples old posts even if they get rid of them. LOL!

btw - reason i was SO FREAKING SICK ? the same viruses running through my kids. with allergies on top of it. my first year for allergies so bad and they got me. BAD. I'm going to see the ENT within the next month and see what i should be doing. ugh. I was told when I moved to Tx (11 years ago) that If I didnt have allergies I would eventually. Here they are

  • I didn't even know he'd gone to Xangalock.

I'm always a day late and a dollar short.

Aisling, that's a shame about the allergies! They can absolutely lay a person out, can't they? Going to the ENT is a good plan.

  • He has been around forever. /i know he'll be missed. on to new things I guess

  • speaking of which..
tim? where the heck is he?

    Off to check.
    Hugs*

  • I went to Google Reader, which is my primary RSS feed, and lo! and behold the March 1st entry was still there, unread.

Nothing. Not a word to indicate he was considering shutting his blog; for those who didn't read it 'ere now:

First there's an photo of hands on a desk, with the tag, "Meetings: None of us is as dumb as all of us." (I love that!), then it goes on...

    "In other non-meeting bashing news......

"We have tickets tonight to hear the mucho fabuloso One O'Clock Lab Band, which is one of the top large jazz ensembles in the world. The fact that it is made up of jazz studies students from the U. of North Texas makes their talent even more eye-popping (I first typed "eye-pooping" which is a very disturbing image). They've won Grammys, tour the world regularly, etc. but they don't play that many shows locally, so, this will be a fun night.

"And, as an added super bonus, the concert is in the Winspear Concert Hall there on campus which is a real treasure, accoustically speaking. I mean....how many colleges have a concert hall like this? Only holds about 1,100 and there isn't a bad seat in the house.

"To make it even better, one of the best jazz bassists in the universe, Rufus Reid, is performing with them.

"All this for $10? I have my wife to thank for this because she scooped up the tickets before it sold out. I can hardly wait. We may even have time to stop at Hooyah's for a burito before the show. Nathan, wish you were here...."

In between the paragraphs above were photos that are no longer displaying.

    Anyway, that's it. Absolutely normal.

I hate real-life mysteries like this. Rex Stout, Agatha Christie, Emma Lathen, fine. But when a popular blogger suddenly deletes (or locks) all his posts and shuts down without explanation?

Where's Archie Goodwin when you need him? Or even Miss Marple?
