  • The Royalty Watchers are tensing up in expectation...

    .....of England's Prince William proposing to his long-time sweet babboo, Kate Middleton; she is surely an attractive lass, as shown in this photo of her at the ceremony where "Wills" (as his late mother fondly referred to him) received his commission as an officer in the English army:

    Isn't she cute?  I think she's cute.

    But though she looks as if she'd do the English proud as their Duchess of Wales and future queen, there is THIS photo of her at a wedding:

    What. Is. THAT?  Looks like she's got the hindquarters of a rooster perched on her head.  She actually looked at herself in a mirror and thought "Oh, yes!  That's the look I want to project!"

  • My understanding is that in order to enter the Royal Family, one must be willing to be seen in public in crazy hats.   It's the rite of passage.

    But why would anyone WANT to join that dysfunctional family and be pestered by the press forevermore?

  • Wanna know what's sad? In anticipation of their impending engagement the purveyors of royal schlock have already created plates and mugs with photos of William and Kate.

    Guess what hat she's wearing on 'em?

    Yup. Her Ruthie the Rooster (Polly Partridge? I'm not deedy at identifying feathers) chapeau.

    Imagine drinking one's morning caffeinated beverage of choice with THAT photo on it! :-b

  • Is that red thing part of it, or just the beigy-black feathers?  Really, she ought to have a sleek 1940s updo with a thing like that on her head - wouldn't look quite so out of place thataway, I'd think.

  • well, bless her heart. The New Princess (Kate)...I pray that her days are not like Diana's days, with the paparazzi hounding her...oh, wait...already happening. Poor thing.

    and yes, I do think she is adorable. Very pretty girl. What gorgeous children those two will have!
