Hello Kitty WHAT?
I don't even want to think about who would outfit their kitchen in a Hello Kitty motif, but since I saw these at Target, it's to be assumed someone believes there's a market:

I think this one is my favorite....by jingo, don't you know coffee just tastes perkier when made in and poured from a Hello Kitty coffee maker?Yessireebob....to get yourself off to a perkified start to your day, you can't beat Hello Kitty Koffee and a couple of slices of Hello Kitty toast.
Heaven knows it'd get me out of there fast as the, um, cat can lick its whiskers.
So to speak.

I think that Katherine would love to have Hello Kitty waffles or toast (perhaps even that sandwich)....But surely Anne a Hello Kitty coffee maker would fit in and look so perky on your kitchen counter
I don't do perky. >:^(
And I daresay you're right that Katherine...and mostly Margaret and some other little girls I happen to know...would think the Hello Kitty toaster is the cat's meow, but the coffee maker?
Some things simply defy description, that's all.
College students. That's who.
Wouldn't a college student get laughed right out of the dorm if she hauled in Hello Kitty kitchen appliances?
It would also appear that in order for the HK toast to be prettiest, it almost has to be burnt. Hmmm. Good tasting or good looking. When it comes to toast, this isn't even an option!
Of course here in Japan there are all kinds of Hello Kitty products. I'll get some pictures of some crazy stuff here sometime.
No, there's a fair amount of "cutesie chic" in the college set these days. Sophistication is out, cutesie is in.
Yes, Plumtree, from what I hear, those "imprint" toasters are nothing but a gimmick because either you toast it lightly leaving only the imprint dark and the outside cold, or you burn the thing to a crisp to get the outside cooked. Well, what would you expect with a mechanism that cooks one single piece of food at two different temperatures simultaneously? Dumb, dumb, dumb!
Or vice versa, in this case. I've seen them where the imprint is the part that gets dark, but this one appears to work the other way round.
