  • Alright, that was pretty funny!

    November 2 is Sveta's birthday, and in one of her recent emails she'd included a phone number, so a bit after 10 p.m. Dmitry carefully entered it, then anxiously waited as it rang.  After a moment, t'would appear someone answered, as Dmitry was heard to eagerly ask "Who is this?"

    In English. 

    Once he realized what he'd done he grimaced and quickly switched to Russian.  Apparently Sveta had been about to hang up on this strange guy who  called her and began speaking English.  

    She didn't recognize his voice.  e-shrug03   Which makes sense, as they haven't spoken in close to a year, and he's grown a lot in the interim. 

    Still, it was amusing that he automatically started off with English, and had to consciously make the switch to Russian, even when calling his cousin in Russia.
