Putin must have been dipping into the spiked eggnog a bit too deeply
over the holidays, that's the only explanation I can come up with for
his decision to halt Russia's exporting of natural gas to Ukraine over
a price dispute. This when Russia is trying to show Europe what a marvelously reliable
energy source it'd be! Yessirreebob, that's the way to drive that point home.Putin backed off fairly promptly due to European squawking (many
European countries get their gas from Ukraine, so when Ukraine's supply
is hit, Europe's supply is itself at risk), but the damage is already
done. Rotsa ruck becoming The Reliable Source For Natural Gas now, Vlad.
