It was nice while it lasted, but the holidays are over and Alex is taking his family back to Tennessee tomorrow.

This evening we met at the Don Pablos in Grapevine to have dinner, and get one more time with Hannah:
Granddaddy's poppet, and no mistake. ;^)
We love Mexican! Dmitry ordered chicken quesadillas and thought they were wonderful.
At was delightful having them back in Texas for a few weeks!

OK, WHAT'S THE DEAL? All we hear about is how big Texas is, and how great Texas is, and how authentic the food in Texas is, and how great your sister that lives in Texas is, and and and ad nauseum. AND NOW, you have a need to go out for Mexican food -- authentic Mexican food -- and don't be confused, I know in Texas it must be more authentic than in the hills of Tennessee, and where do you go? Don Pablo's? A chain restaurant that you can go to in any major city that any of your e-friends have eaten at umpteen-eleven times in umpty-eleventy places? You've got some explaining to do, Mrs. Ivy, so starting pecking those keys. I'll be at church tonight, and when I get home, I want an answer to this question. Why aren't you eating and partying at Los Portales or Los Alamos or Los "Insert Mexican Word here" with employees that snuck over the border and haven't been caught yet that can't speak English, and when you make your order, they just nod and smile, and you just pray that your order is reasonably close to what you want? Now, that's a Mexican restaurant. Sheesh. We have those in the hills of East Tennessee!
How do I put in emoticons so that everyone else knows that while I am serious here, I really do love you, in an e-sort of way.
Because it was halfway between our home and Beth's mother's house in Carrollton, Mssr. Smartypants.
We visit Pulido's (owned by the Pulido family for lo! these many years, a son of whom used to live next door) regularly, in fact. That's the place with Charles' favorite burrito dinner.
Anyway, I like Don Pablos' queso. >:^>
Wow, "Plummy," (That particular nickname cracks me up, PBC) I was going to comment on something rather more prosaic, like family resemblances, and here you go over the top about a restaurant I'd never heard of. We don't got no Don Pablos in PA. At least not in the MOUNTAINS of Central PA.
So, on to more interesting things: Anne, Alex is one of those offspring who, at various times, looks "just like" both his parents. His mannerisms and the way he stands must be like his dad's, so that often he gives the impression of looking like Don, but in the photo that is now at the top of the page, so near to your photo, he is very much Your Child.
My sister said once that she thought Jason looked like me and Faron. Then she said, "But then, you and Faron look alike!" (And we'd only been married a year or so.)
