The choc chips that are in the cookie dough are supposed to be chopped. Not too easy to do. So use smallest chips available or just don't worry about it!!
I've never chopped 'em. Just dump 'em in as they are, though if I happen to have some of the minichips I'll use those in the dough and use the regular sized chips in the filling.
You'll love 'em, Stella....we have for years, and when provided for bake sales, they're among the first to disappear.
