  • You've doubtless heard the old saying, "Be careful what you ask for, you just might get it".

    Yeah, well . . .

There's a lot of truth to that particular old saying. For ages now I've
been lamenting and moaning and groaning and griping about Dmitry's
steadfast refusal to learn to fend for himself in the kitchen. Many
things have been tried, all to no avail.

Until now.  Bought Ball Park individually wrapped hot dogs, and
showed him how to take two and stick 'em in the microwave for 40
    seconds.

This he could do, and thought the hot dogs were right tasty, to boot.

He's eaten all eight this afternoon.

  • I refer to all teen-age boys as locusts, for the very reason you've stated. As soon as they figure out how to prepare food for themselves it is a fight to keep any food in the house (Anne, you should know this don't you have something like 3 boys?....I have 3 boys, 2 at home to eat everything in sight).

  • Can I EVER relate. Robby's favorite fix it himself food is cold cereal, and he'll just keep on plowing through a box until it's gonzo. Or the milk is gone. However, even if he uses up all the milk, he'll eat the cereal dry. Katie, too.

I buy groceries and it is such a wonderful feeling to have a fridge full of food. Let a day pass, and BAM! lookit all the gaping space! and "Mom, what's there to eat?"
