What's up with essentially young men checking themselves into the hospital for a presumed case of the flu?
Michael Jackson did it. Brad Pitt's just done it. There
have been others in the past only I can't bring 'em to mind just now,
but still . . . they're there. IIRC female entertainers are also
given to a hospital stay for what's ostensibly the flu.I've had the flu before, and been pretty darn sick, too, but didn't
feel the need to go to the hospital. Young 'uns and old 'uns,
okay, but these are men in their 30's or thereabouts, for pity's
sake.Wimps.

Well, Anne, everyone KNOWS what the "flu" was for ladies. It was either a drug/alcohol habit or it was PG. Which one d'you think it was for Michael and Brad??
Now, now...!
Sheath those claws, Eleanor.
OTOH, it beats "exhaustion."
I get really annoyed when some famous person decides they need to be hospitalized due to "exhaustion."
Ha. I'll just bet.
Pampered stars, just a bunch of wimps.
Not drugs. Not pampered (though both are certainly valid possibilities.) What I think is they go into the hospital for the attention it garners them. Think about it. Suffering with flu-like symptoms at home doesn't get much press...entering a hospital DOES. They do it because they know the cameras will catch them and post their pics large upon the fronts of the check-out rags.
Self-pay.
Think about it - if you had that kind of disposable income, why not?
A thought,
me<><
