  • Really, having a camera in my phone is pretty slick, though it can't compare to one of my "real" cameras, of course.

Unless I run off and leave the camera at home, in which case it comes in right handy.

Today was Swim Day with Joe and Zhenya, Dan again demonstrating a
gritty devotion to duty (that has me positively gaping with bemused
admiration) by remaining home to work on his school work:

The photos aren't much, but they were
taken with the camera phone, and did a reasonably decent job
(especially after being cropped and enhanced with a couple of digital
image programs).  I found a plain, blow-up beach ball with which
they had a good time playing.  Tell you what, blowing up that
critter just about did me in . . . there must have been some trick to
it, only I could never figure out what it was.  Every now and
again the air would inexplicably enter the ball without much trouble,
but the rest of the time it was a real chore.

  • Dan stayed home to do homework? Instead of going to the pool? Is he ill?

I'll tell ya, digital cameras, the internet and all you can do with it are amazing!! I took a snapshot of my nana, ran it through the computer, emailed it to my mom and my sister (who printed it out) and it came out clear enough to use in the newspaper for my nana's obituary!! I'm still amazed at how clear these pictures are with just a digital camera on the computer, I've not even begun to grasp the picture phones yet!! Now, can you take a picture with that phone and email it? Can you send the picture to another phone? I've only seen one picture phone up close and personal when a YMCA employee in the baby room took a picture of a baby making a face for the baby's mother to see when she came to pick the baby up, so I'm not familiar with them at all.

Alrighty, I'll quit rambling, feed my cat and call it a night. As always Anne, I love your photos, your family is wonderful (I'll bet they're wonderful in "real life" too) and I sure love your blog.

  • Digital photography is absolutely one of the most marvelous things brought to us by computers and the internet, that's for sure. And yes, one can snap a photo and email it...in fact, that's how I got the pix on my computer - email'd them to myself. And they can be sent to another phone, though there was a problem when trying to send one from the park to Don yesterday afternoon. Not sure what that was about.

Thanks for the kind words, Cheri! You're equally blessed in the family department, though, and I'm just as fond of your blog, too.
