  • Well, that's just sick

Cat hunts?  Wisconsin is seriously considering the legalization of cat hunts?

    We're not talking tigers here . . . we're talking tabbies.  If
Cinnamon Toast manages to slip outside, he'll be fair game.
What's appalling is this is already permitted, and has been for years,
    in South Dakota and Minnesota.

Cats eat song birds, you see.  Mind, I'm a huge fan of song birds,
but for pity's sake, shooting domesticated cats isn't the way to
    protect them.

  • It is my understanding that this is NOT about domesticated cats. This is NOT about Cinnamon Toast slipping out the back door and being fair game. I'm pretty sure that if you walked up and claimed that Cinnamon Toast was your property, the guy with the gun would be in a heap of trouble.

OTOH, if Cinnamon Toast ran away from home, and her grandchildren grew up in the woods, the grandkitties would be fair game. This is about feral cats -- unclaimed, unowned creatures that are difficult to catch and do cause problems.

Not, mind you, that I'm all for this. But this is not about being allowed to blow away your neighbor's cats.

  • OIC Cinnamon Toast is a boy. I stand corrected, but of course the point is the same.
