  • Pictures are here at last!

Isn't she the darlingest poppet you ever saw?

  • She's the darlingest!

Bet you can't wait to get your germs all over her!

    :)

  • Hehehehe! I think I'll start chewing on her toes and work my way up.

  • Shes precious. My two year old saw the pictures and I asked him if he wants one. He says "mmhmmm" and nods his head :)

  • Let me preface by saying I'm NOT a baby person. That's probably because I came from a small family, and I was almost 40 before I held a baby for the first time. Having said that, she is beautiful, and I predict she will have a beautiful smile with that mouth.

  • Good heavens, is that right? Almost 40 before you first held a baby?

That must've been a heck of a moment.

I totally agree with you about Hannah's potential smile, plus ISTM she's playing possum in the middle picture ("They just think I'm asleep!").

  • Oh Anne, she is precious, absolutely precious. Makes my arms ache to hold a new baby.....but....it'll be years before I'm a gran.

  • I think she looks just like Alex, esp. when he was a baby. I am glad to see the Ivy's have some genes that pass on, since your daughters didn't pass any on. Hannah's adorable!!

  • Well, her aunt (Beth's) swears up and down that head of hair is straight from Beth's baby pictures, and she's going to scan one in and send it to me. Even Dmitry observed he thought she looks like Beth.

I agree, though, that there's certainly a definite Ivy influence this time.

  • Beautiful!  Love the head of hair.  What a joy she'll be to you all.

  • What a beautiful baby!

    Congratulations!

  • Thanks, everyone!

I talked to Alex last night, and they're hoping to be able to take her home today, but it wasn't for sure, as her bilirubin (sp?) wasn't dropping very quickly. Any time she's not being fed is spent in the nursery under the lights (which apparently she enjoys, as she sleeps peacefully while there), yet her count only dropped from 13.9 to 13.7.

They want it at 12.5 to release her.

Please pray she improves rapidly today, so they may finally return home!

  • congratulations!  what a precious precious little one.

I love babies - I bet if I put my nose real close to the monitor I could even SMELL her.

Wish I could kiss those little cheeks!

  • I forgot to ask this yesterday - are Alex's hands as HUGE as they look in that 2nd photo? I mean to tell you that boy's hands look bigger'n the baby!

I know camera angles can be deceiving, but Robin's husband David's hands are huge. Biggest hands I ever saw.

Funny dad and baby story. When my nephew Duke's son was born, he had Erik across his lap as he sat with one foot propped on his other knee. The result was that Erik's sweet, bare little foot lined up with Duke's mammoth bare foot. Duke's big toe was exactly the same length as Erik's whole foot. :)

  • I noticed that, and I think that IS camera angle. His hands aren't that big. They're a good size, and well shaped.

  • WOO HOO! A poppet indeed. Congratz to all.

The last picture has Alex's *left* hand looking normal. The camera distortion in the middle pic does make them (the right one especially) look HUGE.

I like your blog a lot BTW Anne.

  • Thanks, Dennis! Kind of you to say so. Glad you found it.

And that's a good point about the difference between the right and left hand...hadn't noticed it till you mentioned it.

(Keep thinking there ought to be some way to work in "the right hand not knowing what the left hand is doing" but can't come up with anything.
