  • Goodness me, whatever next?

Have y'all seen the newest ad for Iams "Savory Sauces"?  Those are sauces intended to be added to dry dog food.  They're available in three (presumably) delicious flavors:  Roasted Beef, Sizzlin' Bacon, and Country-style Chicken.

Ketchup for dogs . . . that's what it is.

  • Alright, I'll comment since no one else is.

I had the same kinds of thoughts, Anne, along with being iritated at the stupid TV commercial - more of making animals have human characteristics. GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR!!!

    Ketchup indeed.

    :(

    me<><

  • I grant you it's making me more and more uncomfortable, how animals have human characteristics bestowed upon them. I've heard of people who refer to their pets as their children, for instance.

Baloney. I like my cats fine, but they aren't people. There was a good point made elsewhere that it was the movie "Bambi" that really started the whole animals-are-just-funny-looking-people thing.

  • But Anne, you have actual children to compare your pets to.  The only people I've ever known who said that their pets were their children, didn't have children.

  • This is about people with too much time, too much money in proportion to their ability to use it wisely, and not enough real responsibilities in life. That's what this society is becoming, and our consumer products reflect it. The disproportion of entertainment-oriented or even really POINTLESS stuff like this for people to spend their money on, to things that actually accomplish something, is getting way out of whack.

  • If you want dog food that's saucy, why not just open a can?
