I'm so glad I'm not a frequent flyer.
From what I'm reading, it's gettin' ugly out there, and likely to deteriorate.
Want a pillow? Better bring your own. First American Airlines, and now Northwest, are dispensing with them. Watch blankets be next on long flights, IMO. If it reaches the point I have to bring along my own pillow and blanket for an overseas flight then I'll be wearing my jammies on the plane.
Apparently the airlines are starting to charge customers $10 for the privilege of speaking to a real person! Can you imagine?
Boxed meals are beginning to be charged for.
Next on the horizon is a cost for checked luggage. A story at USAToday.com says America West is giving serious thought to demanding their passengers fork over 5 bucks per checked bag.
Surely they won't really charge extra for a reclining seat, will they?

But this won't stop you from flying if, well, say, you get the opportunity to fly to PENNSYLVANIA??
WILL IT??

Heavens, no!
I hark back to the days when airlines flung food at you for the whole trip, not to mention warm moist towels to clean yourself up with after eating all that food. USAir used to give us ice cream sandwiches for a snack! (Sigh.)
Whew! That's a relief!
