[pleased] Guess what arrived in the mail today?
A letter. A real, honest to goodness, "now what the heck is that word?" letter!

Can't remember the last time someone sent me a letter. I've some dear friends who send me notes now and again (and I treasure them, let me hastily say), but this is the Real Deal. Four holographic pages, front and back.

Wow. It was such a pleasure receiving it, I feel like writing back, and not using the computer to print it out.
In fact, the art of letter writing is dying out so rapidly, we really ought to make an effort to write at least one letter per week to friends around the nation and the world.
Hmmm.....now what can I write on? Jane M. wrote my letter on delectable notepaper with a garden theme.
It's sad, when one's choices are either All Purpose Printer paper or wide-ruled notebook paper.

I'm waving at you....I write letters, as a matter of fact I have a couple of friends without email and we write back and forth....I've been writing to one for about 30 years!! (we've never met face to face). I'd write you a letter if you emailed me your address. I'd say I could have Robert write to Dmitry, but he informed me long ago that boys don't write letters like girls do.... and I think you need to get yourself to the store and treat yourself to some wonderful stationary!
And, yep my mother and I made my wedding dress. Mom also made my formals when I was in high school. I've not had a chance to try my hand at fitting things, but I'm sure my time will come as Katherine grows. Actually she's so thin I already find myself taking in her clothes!!
I got one, too! But mine was only THREE pages. I think Mrs. M will have some 'splainin' to do.
I get letters from that household often - they're splendid letter writers. And I bought stationary just to write to them, too. Current has wonderful stuff for great prices. I don't write as often as I should, though. (In fact, I just now emailed a reply to the letter.) Typing is so much easier for my hands to deal with than clenching a pen. But I do try now and again. Play your cards right, Anne, dear, and I just might write to you.

Cool....a couple of pen pals already.
Will see about obtaining some nice stationery.
My late sister-in-law used to write book-length letters. Not often, maybe twice a year, but they ran about 10 typewritten pages single spaced. I really knew what was going on in her life when I finished one. I miss her and her letters.
