Congrats to all the Ivys - must be big celebratin' in your house tonight.

Wow - that's Great!!!!
Congrats, Dmitry.
What's so cool is this was the test everyone took, y'know? I pointed out he most likely got a higher grade than some of the other kids in the class . . . kids born here and who are not trying to simulatneously learn new math concepts and overcome a language barrier.
Day before the test I told him I really would expect him to be GOOD at math, seeing as how he possesses wonderful card sense, is excellent at checkers, memory, and most games. From my experience, those with excellent card sense usually are good at math, while those of us who haven't any memory of which cards have been played, and who probably has what, etc. are generally not especially knacky at math.
I don't suppose it's an inviolate law or anything, and everyone reading this could come up with someone they know who is wizard at cards but can't manage long division without a calculator, and vice versa, but ISTM as a general rule of thumb its sustainable.
