Guess who’s EIGHTEEN?!?!
Believe it or not, today is Dmitry Davidov’s 18th birthday. So far he’s celebrated by taking his exit exam at the driver’s ed school and getting a 92, then coming home to receive his gifts. First came the card:
Then was a bottle of a men’s cologne he’s wanted, mostly due to the name….”Davidoff”.
And finally the thing he was pretty sure he was going to get, i.e. GuitarHero3 for the PS2:
To his enormous pleasure, Dan and Joe were able to come home early from work (though Joe needs to return this evening) and they’ve just left for Victor’s house. ;^)
Tomorrow’s his official party, so stay tuned…..

Happy Birthday to Dmitry! He’s growing up into a handsome young man. :so-cool: I don’t get the Davidoff thing about the cologne. I live under a rock, you see. :wink-wink:
Oh, and congrats on the 92 for driver’s ed! :celebrate:
His Russian family name is Davidov, which is also tranliterated into Davidoff. Rachmaninoff is usually spelled with the double f’s, but can also be found written as Rachmaninov.
IOW, it’s a Russian thang. :wink-wink:
M’kay. Does that have something to do with his new cologne?
I think that’s a fine reason to want a cologne!
Happy birthday, Dmitry!
And congrats on that 92!
me<><
The cologne is called “Davidoff”, you see. Davidoff? Davidov? To Russians that’s the same name, just transliterated into our alphabet a bit differently.
He was surprised and pleased a couple of weeks ago when he was at the mall and noticed it. Came home and announced there’s a cologne named after him.
Well. Sort of. :wink-wink:
Ahhhh, I see! I’m not a men’s cologne aficionado so I had no idea. Thanks for the ‘splanation, Lucy! That IS cool.
Okay, now that I went back and reread that part of the post about the cologne’s name (duh!) I see that I was quite dense yesterday! :what: h-no: Thanks for humoring me, Anne. Sorry for the blonde moment. :blushing:

I don’t want to stick my neck out too far, but if I really had to venture a guess, I’d say Heather’s sharing your joy. :frog:
Congratulations Dmitry!
