  • How fun!!!  Is that sun I see?  Yeah!!!

  • Oh yes, that’s sun. Lots of sun. Hot sun. Hot, muggy-making sun. Yup. That’s what it is, alright.

    Where’s the RAIN?

  • I loved to play in the mud, it’s squishy, cool, and dirty. Mud is good. When one is real young and not tromping it into the house. But a hose can correct that problem. Then there are just wet foot prints. Not too old to remember.

  • I agree with Great-grandmama – mud is good. I loved it. We lived on a slight hill when I was small and when it rained hard, the rain would run down the hill on either side of the pavement on our street. My cousins and I would build dams along either side and haul out toy boats or even just float “leaf boats” down the hill and into our “lakes.” We’d get filthy but it was so much fun. I don’t recall well, but I doubt I was any more gracious about it as a mother than my mother was – which is to say, “Don’t come into this house until you’ve hosed yourselves off!”

    Indeed, mud is good!

    Adorable photos, Anne.
