  • Sunday summer afternoons are made for yard work.

Well, that’s what Don seems to think in any event.

Dmitry had gone to Carolyn’s paternal grandparents’ home in Brownwood today, but as soon as he was dropped off he was pressed into service.  Didn’t even get to come inside first:

There’s some sort of ground cover up there that needed to be hacked back to a manageable level, you see.

Wielding power tools!  Cool.  Gonna have to work, let it involve implements capable of cutting off human limbs as well as botanical ones.

Don told me that the Bradford pear tree has pears on it!  I was quite excited and ran for my camera….

Took me a couple of minutes to locate ‘em.  I spy three in this photo, though.  They’re just little green balls.  I suppose ornamental pear trees don’t produce edible pears, more’s the pity.

  • How is Dimitri wearing long sleeves in the Texas summer?  That just makes me hot seeing him, especially outside doing yardwork in long sleeves and long pants.

  • He just does. Strange, innit?

  • Your yard looks very nice – and I also wondered about the long sleeves.  Surely I’ve seen him in s/s before?

  • Oh yes, but he was trying to spruce up a trifle for Carolyn’s grandparents.

  • Yeah, but you KNOW about those Bradford pears. (many evil winks)

  • You’re a Severe Naughtiness, Jane. =8^o

  • Not too wet…still have sense enough to come in from the rain. Well…most of the time, anyway. I love soaking up the sun. It’s sooo cold with the A/C running cool enough to keep the girlies comfy that I feel like a cat sometimes, following the sun as it moves through the place so I can stay in the nice warm sunny spots. Good luck to Dimitri. Sounds like he has quite a task ahead of him this summer. I was wondering when Stripling/Cox would give up the ghost. Sad to see it go.
