  • Happy birthday to Charles!

He’s officially left his teens goodbye, and is 20 years old!  e-cheerleader

We talked with him last night for a bit, and he was going to be standing watch as his birthday arrived.  Two birthdays in the Navy, standing watch on them both times.

At least he’s here in the States for this one.  Next year – his 21st! – he’ll be on the sub, assuming they deploy as scheduled.  Isn’t that the way?

He’s also begun counting down the days until he returns to civilian life; as of yesterday, it was 1,032, best he can figure.

  • Happy birthday, Charles!

Hey, does anyone ever call you “Charlie?” “Chuck?” “Chip?” “Chaz?” Chick?”

    Just wondered.

  • I will call him Chuck sometimes when I phone him.  Happy Birthday, Chuck!

  • He used to try to be known as “Charlie” but it never stuck, and ISTM he attempted “Chuck” occasionally, but somehow he’s just such a “Charles”, the nicknames never took root.

Come to that, I’d really intended to call him “Chip” when we named him, but even as a baby he simply had “Charles” written all over him.

  • Happy birthday, Chaz!  Counting the days?  Is he not happy with living under the sea?

  • Happy Birthday, Charles!!! And what is your mailing address so your Grandmom can send you a birthday card??? That check has an expiration date on it!! Just kidding! But I do want an address!! Love and have fun soon in celebration! Grandmom

  • He’ll be moving to a new barracks this week, so he doesn’t know.

His account at BoA is still active, meaning if he’ll go to the local BoA and get checks and/or a debit card, I can just transfer his b-day money over to it from mine.

    Save a stamp.
