  • Assuming their MAC flight left reasonably on time, they should be in Japan now.  Not at Yokosuka yet, though....there's the van ride to get through.  Still, they ought to be in Japan!  e-banana

    Today the temperature has mostly been in the 80's, and y'all wouldn't believe how marvelous it's been to finally have shaken the preheated-oven mode in which we've lived all summer.

    On Thursday morning Charles flies back to Groton.  Wonder who'll arrive first, him or Ernesto?

    Today I noticed on the back of an electrical company truck "Since 1976!"  That's the trouble with being my age...to me that doesn't sound long ago.  Heck, I was married in 1971, and Kirstin was born in 1974.  It's thirty years, however, and that's a legitimate span of time for a business to brag on.

    As y'all can tell, this is a rather disjointed posting today, featuring odds and ends.  e-shrug03

  • Must be the age group because it appears I'm around your age (married in 1972, 1st child born 1976) and I followed your post perfectly well.

    And I agree that the weather today was a wonderful relief!

  • I graduated 8th grade in 1976, but it still doesn't seem all that long ago....

    We've had a cold wet summer, only about a week (if that) of hot weather. This morning we wore jackets (it did warm up to 71 this afternoon), right now it's about 58.

    You'll hear from them soon I'll bet. Chris used to go to Japan every 5 weeks (he did that for over a year). He'd leave and I'd hear that he arrived safely about 24 hours later.

  • JACKETS???

    Omigoodness. =8^o

    Jackets in August. Whatever next?

  • AAaahahhhh today was more normal weather wise....shorts and t-shirts and not a jacket in sight!! (except for the sweatshirt tucked into the backpack because, well..this being Colorado and all you can never tell what the weather is going to be like in 15 minutes or so )

    Did your kids make it to Japan safely?

  • Presumably. Haven't heard from them as yet.

    Two DAYS later!

    Of course, at this very moment it's not quite 6:30 a.m. there, so I daresay they're sleeping.

    Hopefully this evening (morning, their time) they'll call.
